Removing Footer Link

Hey everyone ,
i've tried for 2 days already to remove the footer links of my WPCRUNCHY theme. There are 5 links to gambling , drugs etc sites at the bottom and i must pay quite a sum of money to have it removed.
i've searched on alot of forums and they all provide info to remove other custom themes but not this one. Is there any1 who knows how this can be done? Thanks

    Appearance -> Editor -> Footer

    Look for the code. Sometimes it will be hidden.

    However bear in mind that if you remove the footer links without permission and it says in the terms for the theme, then you could be asking for a lot of trouble.

    I found that I had advertisements in my footer with Flextheme. These disappeared as soon as I placed something else in the widget governing the footer. I recently installed the theme again and placed a blank text boxes in the widgets with advertising.
    I do not know about the theme you are using but if you have a widget for the footer try placing something else in it.

    What you are asking is "How can I steal something".
    If we give you the answer then we are an accessory to theft as well.

    If it was just a theme that needed a footer edited or not require the use of links to make it free, then that would be ok. But since you stated that you have to pay the theme editors for a non-linked license, that is not right.

    Suggestions:
    1) Pay for the license if you like that theme and can't have the links in the footer.
    2) Use a different theme.

    I agree with VegasGreg. They are only asking $35 to remove the footer links which is a very fair price considering the time and effort that is put into designing a theme.

    Wordpress themes are derivative works of Wordpress, and fall under the GPL.
    That is, by distributing the theme, the GPL is activated.
    Go ahead and remove those links. I mean it's a scripting language, so all the source is right there in front of you.
