Windows Key & Regions

I purchased a legitimate version of Windows 7 Ultimate from another user about a year ago. I want to reinstall my OS, but my CD is missing (almost certainly stolen).

I could get the key off my system. For the OS, I downloaded a copy of the retail torrent (cannot get a new one from MS since I did not buy it from them).

What I am wondering is this: Does MS have regions for its OS? I bought the OS in Japan, but the torrent is from the US. Before I do this, I want to know if legitimate activation is likely to be a problem.

If I am on the wrong forum here, please let me know where to go. This is just the only forum I am a member of that has anything to do with computers.

    Activation should be fine. If an automated activation fails, you will be told to call in, and talk to someone. They will make sure that your license key unlocks your windows copy. if they ask, just tell them you had to reformat your hard drive due to a virus.
