    Sites like that are in my opinion Pirating Sites. Someone collects the cash, buys the product, then in most cases REFUNDS the product and puts up for download for everyone that bought in.

    It is ILLEGAL.

    Usually software is licensed to the person purchasing and is only allowed to be used by that person with ONE copy running at one time but can be placed on up to 3 or so computers with only one copy running at one time.

    Sharing software with multiple persons not associated in same company is illegal.

      While you are correct that it's illegal doing this for software and that's what a lot of group buying related websites are targeted towards, there are actually others which work on purchasing bulk amounts of items such as hard drive, etc in order to receive a large discount.
