What can I do to speed up my site?

I'm trying to speed up my site Online Collaboration & Project Management Software: Your Local Project, I have:
- w3 Total Cache enabled
- Have MaxCDN set up as my Content Delivery Network
- I have minify CSS enabled but still rate as poor (F)
See my attached image of my site run through http://gtmetrix.com. I don't know if I'm missing something but I think it should run faster.

Hi Mike - your image (Untitled-1copy1.png) is 123KB. You should try and shrink the size down. I try to keep my graphics size small, maximum around 50KB. I use Adobe Fireworks so i'm able to manipulate the images. You can try to shrink it with Adobe Photoshop if you have it.

    Hope this helps,
    Artemis

Also take a look at your mysql database statistics to see what queries are occurring and how long those queries are taking. There is a good chance the database is slowing things down.

      Here is a quick primer:
      • Use as few HTTP requests as possible.
      • Put CSS at the top of the page.
      • Minify CSS, JS, and Images
      • Put JS at the bottom of the page.
      • Reduce DNS Lookups
        • Use relative paths for external files.
      • Optimize Images
      • Compress components with GZIP
      • For WordPress, use W3c Cache and DB Cache Reloaded.
      • Make sure your Database is InnoDB.
      • Make sure your hosting company's box isn't overloaded.
      I hope this helps.

    Hello,

Apparent site presentation may be pretentious by using big browsers, slower modem speeds, or sure computer systems. There is no require to buy a brand fresh computer to find the way our site.
    Thanks

here's another suggestion and it has turned my site completely around in terms of speed: I have a loaded WordPress-driven site that is now super fast because I switched to a host that is using LiteSpeed and it has made a world of difference.

if you have a resource-heavy WordPress blog, I highly recommend you find a host who offers LiteSpeed.

You should also make sure your site is g-zip compressed. This can be done with PHP or by htaccess if you have certain apache libs enabled.

I wish there were a way to activate plugins only on the pages that you use them on. Like activating a contact form plugin only on the contact page. Any ideas?

You could also use the W3-cache plugin it works great for me, you can use the HDD cache but if your host has memcached running it work even better....
