Accessing localhost page to create database for my 1st Website

Hello,

I am using wampserver to install wordpress locally, and if I can just access my local host page, I think I can figure this out.

When I attempt to access my localhost page, whether through wampserver or directly in my browser, it comes up page not found.

Can someone please tell me how to access this page so I can create a new database for wordpress?

    Hi,

    The first thing I would check to see is if your Apache part of the wampserver install is listening on port 80. You will have to check the config for that.

    Also, make sure that you are not running IIS on your machine, as that will be serving on port 80 if there is a website on it.
