Url shortening setup- I need help

Hello Warrior Programmers,
I need help setting up a url shortening service. Maybe a simple guide or a resource.

I'm looking forward to launching this service and I need your help.

      Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Please with this script, can people sign up/sign in and use/manage their shortened url?

      In addition, can users customise the url? e.g tpx.com/facebook instead of tpx.com/glim20gla which often is common with the already known url shorteners...?

    If you are using wordpress, there is a plugin called pretty links which makes you affiliate links etc look a lot mor professional than using bit.ly, tinyurl etc. which all look a bit tacky (although short). This plugin allows you to use youdomain.com/productname etc which gives your prospects the feeling that you have put some effort in.
