Newbie no reply policy...

Hey guys,

I know I'm new - my background is in software solution architecture, so I am still very green in terms of IM, but I do know a fair bit about programming and the like, and could quite probably help people out, except I can't until I have 20 posts, by which time I will probably still be green in terms of IM.

Seems a shame that there isn't a better way to do this, such as having the first 20 posts and 20 replies moderate for all new people to prevent forum spamming.

Anyway, it's a shame as it is quite difficult to be helpful currently.

        Martin - I am assuming you mean you can't PM?

        However, you can still reply by posting in the actual threads - and at the same time increase your post count towards the 20 before being able to PM

          I wondered how that works - I can obviously reply in here.

          I wonder if it is because I didn't create the thread? I did mean reply, the forum told me me 'NO!' when I tried to reply. It also just told me 'NO' for replying to a post with a link in it, it was from a quote, so I had to remove the OP link to allow it to work. All part of the learning curve I guess :rolleyes:

          Won't be long before I have enough posts anyway, I'm really enjoying participating in here.
