mobipocket conversion

Maybe someone in here can tell me the correct terminology or direct me somewhere that does this type of work.
A friend wants to put his word doc into mobipocket fomat. The sticky point is he wants it to be able to show up in different types of PDA's, for example the latest blackberry. I understand how to go from word to a mobipocket file that reads in something like the Kindle.
From what I can see in something like a mobile phone or something similar like a blackberry or Apple's phone, the screen space is limited so certain parts of the menu will need to follow down as the reader scrolls, like what you see in a cell phone. This will require some type of coding other than the standard mobipocket conversion of pasting source code into the mobi converter.
