Keeping track of your websites if they go down

Hi
I am looking for the best program / software that would track to see if any of my websites go down
Have 200, on different servers (dedicated and shared) and different IP's and just keen to get a notification if one site goes offline at any time.
Whatever I set up needs to be able to access both my dedicated and shared servers or maybe that is not needed ..it could be just a case of filling in the website domain to the program and that does the rest to see if online or not?

Any suggestions gratefully received

Thanks fellas

When you server is down, then its easy to figure it out by sending a HTTP request to given URL. If response is not 200, then its not working properly.

Consider also monitoring whether the test page fetched still matches the expected/desired content. This will help give early warning if your site gets hacked.
