What's the best tools to use if you want to sell graphic design?

Hi Warriors,

I currently have a local graphic design company in Asia. I want to sell our current invitation design templates, business card design templates, and I also want to provide logo design services to the International market.

For the design template, I want the users to be able to browse my gallery and just click add to cart. After they pay, they are automatically able to download what they just purchased.

For the logo design services, I want them to select a logo package, then after they pay my company, they will be able to complete a questionnaire. And then that questionnaire will be sent to us.

All features must have a credit card payment feature.

What's the best way to do this? What tools do I need?

I clearly have no idea. The business model I'm copying is: inkd.com

you can use a webcart software for that, and although it may seem overweight for such task, it will provide all the required features and more. see PrestaShop, for example.
you add products (category-sorted templates) and when you get orders, you just send your clients a link to a Google-hosted survey (part of Google Docs) or another survey platform. you can also have that survey integrated in the store frontend, but that may require some programming work. also, to accept credit cards, you will need to sign with a provider be it PayPal, 2Checkout, or another.
    that's a crude idea.

isn't there a wordpress plugin for this? by webcart, you mean like magento? Are those webcarts easy to deploy just like wordpress?

Why is it a crude idea?

I'm not familiar with wordpress, but I'm sure there are such that cover your needs if you [google]wordpress cart plugin[/google].
yeah, cart like magento, except that magento is deemed very corporate (i.e. packed with features, extensible, ... but also wasteful on resources, bloat and slow).
crude because you will likely polish it yourself. :p

Your welcom to put your designs up as files in the MARKETPLACE section of my site earner.net. When the customer comes and purchases the dowloadable file your credit balance will increase. Payments are made to you on the 1st and 15th of each month (if you opt to withdraw your funds.)

You can advertise your design services in the SERVICES section too. And put up your portfolio in the PORTFOLIO section.

There are some other sections too, but check it out and see if it suits your needs.

If your thinking one-off illustrations for a single time purchase like an art sale, then maybe
    http://www.illustration.net/

    would suit too.

Just to piggyback a bit on what's already been said, I can say with absolute certainty that you will need to do some programming / adjustments / module downloading to get any cart just the way you'd like it. Sometimes out of the box solutions will get you pretty close, but you'll always be a little frustrated/wanting a little more out of it.

If you aren't comfortable with programming, I'd suggest you follow up on ussher's idea or other similar sites that may provide a similar feature. You may find it has a much lower barrier of entry and a lot easier to wrap your mind 'round if you aren't a coder.
