Decoding a php file encoded with IONCUBE

I have a situation where my IT guy is going to be away I have somone trying to make a small change to a php file but Ioncube is getting in the way...

Shouldnt him having ftp access enable him to read these?

If not how can i have these edited... someone please help

    You give them the original, unencrypted source code. You can't edit ioncube encoded files.

      look up on google a service to decode the files

        I think it's against the DMCA to decrypt these files.

        You should ask for the original files, or give him the original files if you have them.

        If you can't get your hands on them, you probably shouldn't have them anyways.

    Decoding an IONCUBE file is almost impossible as the coder encrypting the file picks a password of their choice which is used on the encryption algorithm that makes the final "Ioncubed" file. So you would have to know the password used by the coder, so your IT guy will have to email you the source code of the file to be edited so you can have those changes applied, then he can encrypt the updated files for you later when he comes back.
