What do you use to deploy a software app?

I am about to release a software product and looking for advice on best practices to do this.
The question is what are the best options for selling (e-commerce, cart and payment) and how to integrate that into licensing and deployment of a software application. The coming out party will be a WSO, but I will need an ongoing method to sell and deploy.
Any experience or recommendations?
