Hi,

Basically I registered a domain a few weeks ago and started building a site on it today. It got ranked in google after a few hours for its desired keyword however the description and site title is nothing like its supposed to be.

I have set the site title and description using the all in one seo plugin as well as setting it in the wordpress settings sections. I have also set the sitemap plugin to crawl the homepage every hour, but still no luck.

To see what i mean search

tonyhortonmarried.com in google. (my site is the first one that comes up).

Any help will be very much greatly appreciated.

I dare say this is simply how Google currently has your site indexed.

Have a look at what your site looks like in Google's cache:

    Index of /

Once Googles bots come back to your site things should look the way they do now. It is quite normal for Google not to visit new web sites and / or web sites without backlinks all too often.

So, do some social bookmarking. Ping your site. etc ... the usual drill to get Google's bot to come and have another look at your site.

    Cheers,

    Brian

P.S. using Google's webmaster tools may help speeding up the process

      Thanks for the great advice.

I havent built a single backlink to the site. Will do that over the next few days.

Also if the site is only being viewed as that index page then why is it already on page 2 in the rankings.?

Maybe the domain was already in use before and has some link juice left. Or maybe your targeted keywords just have very weak competition.

If you changed the web and you make sure it can get crawled by Googlebot then I wouldn't worry. It will probably change in the next days.

That is why when building a new site with a new domain, put in a robots.txt file that disallows all bots until your site is ready to go live. But remember to edit it after your site is live.

No one here as really told you how to fix this problem...

Go to google webmasters: Google Webmaster Central. Get data about crawling, indexing and search traffic. Increase traffic to your site.

Verify you own the site by following the steps google provides.

Once your site is verified you will need to have google fetch the new data on your website.

On the webmasters left hand navigation, you will need to click "Diagnostics" now click the "Fetch as Google Bot" link.

Once your site is fetched, you will need to click the link that says "Submit to Index" It will be to the right of the success link.

Your new webpage (and it's title) will be fetched and indexed within the next 3 hours.

This is a new amazing tool created by google. But beware, over using this tool can result in an immediate sandbox.

      I hope this helps,
