My WP Blog Recent Posts Show Up Weird

My baseball WP blog is having an issue with recent and current posts.

When I am logged out it shows "Dads Teaching Kids To Hit a Baseball Is Rewarding" as the most recent post and has it at the top of my blog.

Baseball Hitting Tips Blog

(Refer to attached picture #1)

When I log in it shows the correct most recent post. "How To Hit a Home Run".

(Refer to attached picture #2)

I've looked at my blog page, gdSW recent posts widget and general settings and it's the same as all my other blogs which don't have this issue.

I've cleared my cache and still see the issue.

Any ideas as to how I can fix this? Do you get the same problem?

The list you've shown between the logged in (correct order) and the logged out ( incorrect order ) are vastly different.

Does the list change when you refresh the page?

Are you sure you don't have something like a "show random" or something similar set on the widgets....

Which is probably something you've already checked but it might give you an "aha" moment...

From what you've shown us there is something definitely different happening in the two cases and there is always a reason... It's finding the bugga that can be the tricky bit, but the clues lie in what you've observed and shown us....

    Cheers

Hi Tim and thank you for commenting.

The list doesn't change when I hit refresh.

I haven't seen a show random selection for recent posts.

I've looked in the WP settings for writing and reading and can't find anything different than any of my other blogs.

Could there be something weird in any of my files in hosting? I did compare the single.php and it's no different than my other blogs.

      Any other thoughts?

      Thank you.

Sounds like you have a caching issue. Do you have some sort of caching enabled?

If you have a caching plugin, usually it will cache stuff for users not logged in, and it will show real time data (no caching) for users that are logged in. Please check this.

I am using WP Super Cache plug in but the funny thing is that the site works perfectly in firefox and is only in IE and Chrome where it doesnt show the new posts...

        Would this still be caching?

Thanks so much for your input

Yes. Still sounds like a caching problem.

Could be one of two things:

The site is caching based on the "user agent" of the browser.

Or your browsers security settings aren't letting the site store cookies on your machine.

You might also need to clear your local cache on your browser.

Try disabling WPsuper cache on your wordpress install, clear the cache on your browsers and see if you still have the problem.

    Disable WP Super Cache.
    Disaple WP Minify (if used).

    These two often cause problems.

If that won't work, disable any plugin but the recent comments one you are using.

See if it works and go step by step.

    Cheers,

Thanks for the tips guys but still no go...

I have disabled WP super cache and deleted all its cahed files...

I am not using WP mimify...

I have deleted all history, cookies, and temp internet files with no difference

I have checked on boths my sons pcs and it is the same on theirs as well as a friend of mine who originally brought this matter to my attention... so its not just my pc

The only thing I recently installed was Auto Social Buddy and Auto Traffic Buddy and have tried disabling those but that doesnt work.

I think you are on the right track with the caching because I renamed the post that is showing as most recent in IE and in IE it is still showing the old post title whereas its the new title in FF... but WP Super cache doesnt seem to be the problem...

      Anything else I can try??

Thanks again so much for your input...
