Anyone know of code to check a paypal/clickbank transid against your account?

PROGRAMMING

Basically I'd like to be able to place a transactionid and email into a tool and have it check against either my paypal transaction id or my clickbank account. I want to do this after the fact rather than as part of the transaction - wanting to automate some affiliate bonuses rather than direct sales. My google searches are not bring back any information except for using IPN etc for the actual sale. I can always download the info and run a query against it - but really want to automate this if possible. Any pointers are greatly appreciated.

ok - finally found some info on NVP Paypal API and using the transactionSearch api. so part way there but any help is still appreciated.

I just wrote code that does this in C#...but it does involve using IPN data, as this is the only method i know of to validate paypal transactions.

Basically you can specify an IPN URL in your buy button...and paypal will send IPN data as POST data to that URL. Whatever URL you specify should have code that reads in the posted data...and then to verify the transaction, you take the exact posted data, and do a POST request back to PayPal's payment verification URL here: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr

If the response is "VERIFIED", then the transaction is valid.
