Problem Installing SEoBook Toolbar

I hope someone can help me here.

My SEOBook toolbar that gives me my pagerank of other sites, Yahoo links etc is no longer working.

I have Firefox 4, and have tried many times to upgrade to Firefox 5 and above, since SEoBook does not work with FF4. I can't seem to get FF 7 to install, and therefore, I can't install SEOBook.

Would appreciate if someone can help me understand what I am doing wrong. I am NOT tech savvy!

    have you tried to completely uninstall FF and then to install fresh copy of FF?

      I have had the toolbar installed for sometime. I just noticed this week that the "yahoo page links" no longer seems to provide a listing of backlinks.

      In its place, the following is displayed;

      With the completion of algorithmic transition to Bing, Yahoo! Search has merged Site Explorer into Bing Webmaster Tools. Webmasters should now be using the Bing Webmaster Tools to ensure that their websites continue to get high quality organic search traffic from Bing and Yahoo!
      That may explain why it no longer works.

      I checked to see if the add-on has an update - but none seems forthcoming. I went to the seobook site relating to the toolbar specifcally - but (cursory check) it doesn't seem to address the issue.

      It may not be the answer you seek, but at least it suggests a reason why. I do not know of any other reason, other than this that I've outlined. Maybe someone can expand on this point - or, they can provide some alternative reasoning...

        Yahoo did away with their backlink checker (blame the Bing merger). You used to be able to run the checker through in.yahoo.com and other countries' Yahoo but no more. SEOBook's toolbar automatically updated on my laptop and shows links in Blekko rather than Yahoo. No update on my desktop yet but I've been using opensiteexplorer.org. Some other free backlink check tools include:

        x4d.de/backlinkchecker/
