main drive set to small D: drive not large C: partition

how do I change which drive is the main one? the computer has d drive as the main, but it is tiny. everything saves there automatically, and nothing is on the c drive. how do I redirect the computer to change this and how do i move everything over?

    It's very difficult and manual process.

    Also, it saves where you tell it to save, try changing the setting in whatever program you are using to use someplace else.

    Normally the main drive(in windows) is the one which installs the operating system itself. If its setup in the D: Drive, that means you will have to get the OS installed in the C drive.

    Every installation is directed towards the Program Files of the operating system drive, and that you can change at the time of installation only. So if you want to change the installed files, probably you will have to install them and have to uninstall them again.

    I would really like to know about the operating system that you use, because in Windows 7 or vista (I don't remember exactly which one), you have the facility to expand/shrink volume(volume=drive in simple terms). Maybe if you are using one of these operating system, you can expand your D drive to accommodate more programs.
