groupon or living social type WP plugin, How much work would that take?

Hello

I am wondering how much work it would take for someone to develop a plugin that pretty much does what groupon does for group buying.

How long would it take and how hard would it be? What would you charge someone for it?

also if you know of any existing plugin like this please let me know

Thanks

You mean using the Groupon API or to completely recreate a Groupon style service?

Sorry I should have been more specific. I meant that if I only want to run my own deals directly from my wordpress blog. So it would have the price, how many have been bought, how many need to be bought, clock counting down etc. But not using any other service than a payment processor such as paypal.

I don't use any types of couponing in WP currently, but have a look at these two WSOs:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...-facebook.html

    (no aff link)

maybe they'll have what you're looking for?

    Cheers

Maybe the coupon site you're using has a deal widget you can use? That would be the easiest way to do this. Amazon has a widget like that, for example.

  • This is all "ball-park" figures for what we call "Minimal Viable Product" (the least you can ship and still call it a product).

To answer the original post, if one was to do this "properly" I'd estimate about 3-5 hours to spec out a very rough prototype of the "Minimal Viable Product", and 15-25 hours to code a working beta version. A couple weeks of user testing and refinements to get a relatively stable and functional version 1.0 out the door.

Cost: between $500 and $5000 depending on cost of developers and level of quality and functionality required.
