Sources to learn programming

Hey everyone,

I have made 5-10 websites which I have sold on flippa, but each one I have had to outsource a programmer to code on wordpress for several themes I bought.

Enough is enough, I have been putting off learning to code for several years and it's about time.

Does anyone know any websites to learn to code for wordpress?
Preferably free and easy to follow.

I appreciate your time.

On a seperate note, I have my blog which I uploaded my aweber form to, but it doesn't show in the widget box. I tried increasing the size and everything. Would you recommend I simply post the whole java (or html) code to it.
If yes, then how do I do that.

    Have you ever learned PHP before?

    If you have learned, I recommend you to go to net.tutsplus.c*m/category/tutorials/wordpress/
    But if you haven't learned, you can learn PHP first on w3schools.c*m/php/default.asp

    Thanks, but that seems to focus a lot of creating a theme. Would it still be useful for just editing an existing theme? (I know it says creating and EDITING, just asking)

      Indeed, because once you know how something works, you explore the one you need to modify and you say "oh, so here is the CSS code for that background...", "so, here I can delete this link", "this is where I add some text next to my logo...", etc.
