Goofy Question, but Has A Purpose...

If you went to a video squeeze page, and the video was NOT on autoplay, what amount of time do you think it would take you to actually "hit the play button" to watch the video, if you were actually interested in watching the video....

1, 2, 3, 4, 5 seconds, etc?

there cannot be a perfect correct answer, just a simple educated guestimate would do in this case.....

My guess, would be between 3 and 5 seconds....

I would think it would take me about 3-5 seconds.

If it was just a blank screen with a play button on it? Thats an advertisement, I don't click those. In fact, unless you have already made the user "play" the video themselves, I would think most people have already seen the video-field that opens up a new porn window when you hit the play button.

It is not a goofy question I consider it important. In my case, I would prefer the video not to start. And it take it about 2 seconds to push the button if the video is in a visible part of the page.

I think the answer depends on how much text content is on the page as well as the preference of the visitor.

If there's a sales page below a video, I prefer to read the sales page rather than watch a video. I'm sure a lot of visitors would prefer to watch a video rather than read a sales page. I sometimes begin reading a sales letter and decide to watch the video based on something I read.

If there's no sales letter or other text content on the page, I would say the average time from page opening to the visitor clicking the play button would be around 3-5 seconds. That's about the length of time required for the visitor's brain to pick up the fact that the video isn't starting automatically.
