download avast home addition (free) install and carry out a boot time scan. This should get it if a virus is present..

avast! antivirus - high security and protection from malware with anti-spyware and anti-rootkit software built in

Can you give bit more information, how you got it, do you see it in Task Manager and can you close it from there ?

Do you know where is the file located ? If you do can you delete it manually.

If you're anti-virus software ain't doing the job you should try to get rid of it manually.

For example "Command Prompt" might become handy, because if you cannot close this process from "Task Manager" you might be able to close it from "Command Prompt". ( Start -> Run -> cmd ) or ( Windows Key + R -> cmd )

    1) Find out the process ID

    - Open "Command Prompt" and type in command tasklist, from there you see the name of processes and the PID ( Process ID ) following it.

Then you can try to kill the process and hope that its not running as service ( so it wouldn't start itself back up ).

To kill the process type taskkill /PID processid /F

If you are able to shut down the process and know where it is located, you might be able to just delete it.

Also you can try using several different anti virus software, also see if HiJackThis works, if it starts up with the system, HiJackThis probably shows it and you might be able to remove it from startup.

Also again one of the things you could try is restart you're computer and boot in safe-mode. That way it starts up less processes and probably virus won't be launched. Again in safe mode you might be able to get rid of it.

If you have any questions or need help feel free to ask.

I typically use a set of scanners to remove a virus.

    combofix
    malwarebytes antimalware
    avast boot scan

sometimes I will also use spybot and/or superantispyware. All of these are free programs
