When I try to go to www.kettle-bell-weights.com, it won't load. The domain is registered, but it looks like it's not attached to an IP. Which would explain the error: "No address associated with..."

Doing a quick look...the domain doesn't have any DNS, MX, or any type of records associated with it.

Looks like a bad name somehow :-/ I'm a little baffled cause at first I thought it must not be registered...but everything says it is but it doesn't "exist" anywhere...looking up with Whois, there's no record, says the Registrar is Wild West Domains (which is GoDaddy), and the nameserver is a company called SITETOAD.COM.

None of that really does you any good...all I can say is...someone hasn't set something up correctly somewhere...sorry I couldn't help more!

I'm assuming the problem was DNS propagation - it can take some time, but the IP address should always work off the bat.

He might not want the IP address public yet as the site is under development. I use this trick for a development copy of my site. You can associate the IP address in your hosts file in the form of

    127.0.0.1 localhost

Replace 127.0.0.1 with the IP address and localhost with the hostname you want to access. In windows the host file is located at %WINDIR%\system32\drivers\etc. In *nix it is located in /etc.

look at your DNS settings, it might not have propagated so you can't access it yet. It might take some time, but if you don't want to wait you can try flushing your DNS or try using google DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Could be DNS, Could be a firewall issue. He needs to allow port 21 to the server you are trying to connect to.

hi i updated earlier in the post but incase you missed it, i didnt connect because he sent me the wrong details. once he realised we were in and all the dvds tranferred over no problem.
