Help Required: How To Get A Link In Name Field When There Is No Website Field When Blog Commenting

Hi fellow link builders!

I am desperate. I have been trying to solve a riddle for several weeks. More and more blogs remove the website field, only leaving the name and the email field for blog comments. I know there is a way to add a link to the name field nevertheless as I see this everywhere. How do they do that???

Any hint is so much appreciated! Thank you very much for reading this.

It depends. Software I use would just make a text of your site in the comment field so as to not create a followable external link. It helps with the SEO and causes you to need to comply with the sites wishes. However something like
    Code:
    <a href="http://example.com">example.com</a>
will often work. Other times simply typing
    Code:
    http://example.com
will create the link. As I said it depends and that dependence is the software being used on the site.

The main reason for taking off the website field these days is to discourage spammers and link-builders who add no value to the discussion.

There is no way, at least on a WordPress site. WP strips/negates html characters in the name field.

Why are you trying to add a link where the owner obviously doesn't want one shown?

Nevermind, dumb question on my part.

Thank you very much for the two suggestions but they do not work. Here is an example site blackenterprise.com/2012/01/06/angela-yee-money-debt/. You will see that several people managed to get the link in the name field and I have no clue how they do that. Anybody knows?
