pay per download videos

My second post here

I'm looking for a plugin to help a friend set up her model website. I'm familiar with Wordpress and so I would prefer something that plugs into that

She wants to sell one-time access to videos...
i.e. she uploads, sets a password and the access is gone after a day or so after it has been downloaded.

I saw this thread:
218732-best-software-adult-paid-member-site (I can't link as I'm a newbie) and was wondering if that information was still current and, seeing as her needs are even simpler, relevant?

Any help or suggestions most welcome

    Hi Jim,

    If you can work with paypal as a payment processor, there is a digital downloads management script if you follow my sig (can't post links yet either). You can set expiration and/or download attempts, etc.

      I am bookmarking this thread only for your signature. I don't know but who knows when I need this script?

    This would require a server-side solution if you wanted it automated. You would program a script in PHP to accept the money, (through a gateway or PayPal, etc.), issue a custom/unique username & password, perhaps log the ip. That user would then have access to the video for a period of time, say 24hrs.

      She is taking money manually for the moment - it's the mechanics of uploading and then creating a temporary password for it (plus the rinse and repeat functionality, of course ) that I'm looking for.

      As it's essentially adult content, Paypal isn't an option, I'm thinking Zambioio (or however you spell it )

    cant help you with a WP plugin but if you did opt to use a custom script you may want to consider something similar to the standard email verification system using a database table to track the stats

    ie...

    once the customer has paid for the video they are then sent a download link (manually or automatically) something like www.videodownloadlink.com?userid=a1b2c3d4e5

    when the customer arrives at the link the server will then grab the userid from the link and check the database to see if the userid exists, video has been downloaded and the date the record was made to see if its within the 24hr download period

    if these dont match how they should, redirect user to an error page

      I think what you're describing sounds perfect if there is a process that's easy to follow as she is very computer illiterate. Have you developed this script yourself? Let me know if you have a sales link

    Thanks guys, I appreciate your time.
    Codecanyon link - yes, I checked there, all require payment and none take into account manual prepayment (I made the steps bold in the original post as I can see everyone heading down the payment gateway plan and that's simply not appropriate at this early and simplified stage)

    Any help most welcome with actually creating a solution for her (urgently now) oh and if you PM me, I can't reply unless you include an email address as I am a newbie

      I dunno if it will help, but check the pay per post feature on the Wishlist Member Plugin.

      You can post each video on separate post.
