Any PHP script to unlock PDF files online?

Hi,

I am looking for a script to unlock PDF files. An example would be something like this:

Crack My PDF - Unlock PDF files online for free. Remove PDF Restrictions

Does anyone know a script like this?

    I'm really wracking my brain here, and I just can't think of a legitimate reason why you'd want such a piece of software...if they're your PDFs, you'd have the security code, and if they're not yours, you have no business unlocking them.

      It's been years, so I can't remember what software I used, but my reason for removing password protection from a PDF document I used frequently was just that I didn't want to have to remember and enter the password each time I wanted to read the file.

        Yes, a non-judgmental and matured response.

        There are various ethical reasons people want to unlock a PDF. The unethical ones don't need to ask.

        Not everyone who wants to get into a bank after hours is a bank robber.

      Yeah, you'd think so, wouldn't you. But, I bought a WSO a while back that was a report on pfd. The pfd file was locked and I couldn't print from it or copy anything from it. I didn't discover that until way past refund time. It's practically useless to me in the condition it's in.

    This page lists some command line tools that you can use to remove a password from a PDF file. Perhaps you could call one of those programs using PHP.

    I tried out the example they gave using qpdf and it worked fine to remove the password from this PDF file which I found here.

    I agree with Steve, I understand the annoyances of password protection when it gets in the way of enjoying the content you rightfully paid for. Problem here is that there was a purpose for that, in case it got spread around you needed the password to access it which you could only get buy paying.

    My thought is to just contact the author and ask for a non-password version that won't ask everytime you open it.

    I lock parts of my PDF's so they can't be altered but don't do the password to open them. If it is your PDF that you created, adobe acrobat has a feature that will reset the password for you or at least older versions do. If you used Open Office or similar I am not sure.

    If memory serves the "protection" on PDF's isn't all that protective and can be easily removed by those motivated enough to do it. Wish you luck with your search.
