I have tried to edit a functions.php file in WordPress and I think I accidentally put a wrong character in, now it wont let me log into admin or anything.

Here is the address:

I need to know how to fix this fast!

NOTE: I am not a very experienced programmer, I know almost nothing

From the error on the site it looks like you just accidentally put in a colon instead of a semi-colon( i.e ":" should be this ";"). Since you can't get to the admin dashboard you will need to overwrite the functions file via FTP. If it's not the case that the colon should have been a semi-colon then you can still upload a blank functions file so that the site can load again. Hope that helps.

Download your functions.php, go to line 45, and see if you can discover the error. Using a program like Notepad++ (free) can help you see what code is on what line. Don't pull it up in the regular windows notepad and try to count manually.

Worst case scenario, if you absolutely can't figure it out, download a fresh copy of your theme (if available) and re-upload the unedited version of functions.php. In the future, remember to make a backup of everything before you start tinkering around.

PM me and I'll fix it for nothing. It looks like you've typed a ":" instead of a ";" as someone else said, but it could also be a missing ")" etc.

Do you have the most recent backup of your files?
