Google Analytics Specialist out there?

Not sure why its difficult to find a reliable
technician for GA but I know the right one is
out there.

Does anyone have suggestions from successful
experience using a Google Analytics Specialist
for Cross-Domain eCommerce Tracking?

This should be a fun & easy project for an experienced Google Analytics specialist.

If you've never setup cross-domain eCommerce/Goal tracking & Custom Reports before, then just pass on this job listing. There's more to it than just following the instructions a Google's help site.

Still here? Then you've probably setup multiple Google Analytics accounts to track across multiple top-level domains. You probably enjoy the process and attention to detail that's required. And you have the requisite programming skills to pull it off correctly.

We're looking for someone who can do these implementations for us long-term. Probably a couple a month to start with, and more often as our capacity to take on more clients continues to grow.

So, this will be a nice & easy additional income stream for you, if you're the right fit.

The outcome we're looking for is to be able track all our paid advertising so that we know what campaigns, keywords, and ads result in conversion goals and ultimately eCommerce transactions & revenue.

Here are requirements we believe we need (bonus points if you can spot anything we've left out):

* You must know where in the source code of each page to place the Google Tracking code. (Duh right?)

* You must know how to setup the filters that show the full domain for proper cross-domain tracking.

* You must have the requisite experience with Javascript and the asynchronous tracking code to make customizations to it. Such as increasing the cookie time-out, and excluding self-referrals.

* Most of our clients use PHP, so you'll need some experience with PHP in order to take the POST data array from the ecommerce platform & insert the variables into the Google Analytics eCommerce tracking code on the order success page.

* In some cases, you'll need to create an intermediate order success page which uses a timed redirect to then forward the customer to the final thank you page.

* In instances where our client uses 1Shopping Cart, we have a template for this which you can reuse. You'll just have to be experienced enough to know what parts of the code to change.

* You'll need experience with the Google URL Builder so that you can test the setup when finished. (A dummy credit card or coupon code will be provided so that you can go through every step in the conversion funnel to test & verify your work.)

* Many of our clients use email to follow up with prospects, and you'll need to know how to prevent email links from over-riding the referrer. And ideally, how to use the Site Search feature to track emails separately.

* We realize that with the many marketing channels available, such as retargeting, facebook, twitter, etc... that the initial referrer will often be overwritten in a standard GA setup. So, it will be important to setup Purchase Goals/Funnels for use in the Multi-Channel reporting section...

* Therefore, you'll need to setup a bi-weekly or monthly email report from the Multi-Channel reporting tab so that we can see the initial referrer attribution. Obviously, this requires you to know how to schedule reports.

* You'll also need to setup at least one Custom Report for Source/Medium conversion tracking.

* Bonus points if you know how to create reports to show how social media has impacted sales.

* Bonus points if you are familiar with Wordpress and the Google Analytics for Wordpress plugin by Yoast.

* Bonus points if you know how to use Advanced Segments & filters to track private membership pages, blog posts, & branded vs. non-branded organic search separately using Segments.

* Bonus points if you know how to setup filters to exclude company staff members visits from skewing reports.

To apply, please send screenshots of Google Analytics accounts you've setup or actively manage where eCommerce tracking is setup properly in a cross-domain setup. Please specify what 3rd party shopping cart vendor the client used. (Our ideal candidate would have experience with 1ShoppingCart & Infusionsoft.)

IMPORTANT: If you do not send screenshots, you will not be considered. If you need to blur out confidential client information, that's fine.

Again, we're looking for someone who has enough flexibility in their schedule to do these implementations on an ongoing basis for us. We want to make this a good gig for you, where you'll have a couple of these to do a month to start with.

There are many, many things you can do with all the information you gather from advanced segments. These are just a few ways to segment out your traffic to discover how your site and marketing efforts are performing:

Use a day part segment to schedule AdWords ads at certain parts of the day to increase ROI.
Segmenting visitors by location to see if national campaigns are working at a local level.
    Compare engaged vs. nonengaged visitors.
Compare campaign sources to decide where to allocate marketing and advertising dollars.

These are just some of the segments that will give you very valuable information. Look for more blog posts from us with more detail on how to analyze the information you gather.
