Does anybody know how to add a blog to a widget in Wordpress?

The theme I am using doesn't allow a static or blog front page.
It is a premium theme where the pages are separated into widgetized columns and then you can add things in from there.

Changing it to static or blog for homepage doesn't affect the theme and doesn't work.

I would like to make one of my widget columns to my blog, so that my recent posts show up just like a normal blog.

Is there anyway I can do this? A plug in? Or adding in some php code?

Thank you so much.

It's hard to answer your question without some more information. What's the theme?

I'll take a stab in the dark - you may just have to create a category (or categories) for your blog posts and mark them - then you can show them via a menu item or in a widget.

The theme is Roundabout by Press75.

Yes, there is a widget already that allows you to add posts by categories and those appear as the "blog."

However, because it is not the actual blog function in wordpress, it only shows the amount of posts that I set for it to show.
I guess I could set the number at 100 or however many posts I have.

But I wanted to show 10 per page and be able to click the "older posts" button to keep browsing instead of having every single post on that one page.

I would agree with the above comment that is hard to answer your question but as i understand your themes allows you to have a blog page but just not as a home/front page. Is that right?
If yest then an option for you would be to use an rss widget and just set it to display your own blogs rss feed, then customize it with CSS(optional)

How about using a different theme that will make this possible.

    lovboa,

Have you tried adding a category menu item named Blog?
That should give you access to the 'blog' functionality of WordPress

The company that you bought the template from has a help video that shows you how to use Custom Menus - so, it is very likely that you can do this easily.

He is issue is not how to gain access to the "blog" but to display the blog at the front page of a theme that it does not allow you to select a page in the front...instead they use a custom one with multiple widgetized sidebars

well..maybe I misunderstood. I thought he wanted to display the 'blog' in a widget on the front page and wanted full blog functionality - so, I suggested creating the category menu because that can then be displayed via the widget.

Just go to your appearance and drag and drop the categories of blogs on the sidebar.
