What CRM do you use and why?

28 replies
I have always been a fan of the functionality (tagging, API, followup options) of InfusionSoft (though i have my criticisms of their updates and whatnot).
I thought office autopilot showed some promise but it wasn't my favorite.
I haven't tried sales force, though i have heard really good things.

How do you manage and segment your contacts, do integrations, etc?

OR what is your favorite autoresponder?

    Haven't found anything that works quite like Office Autopilot for my info marketing business... though there are few integrations. Only thing I have to integrate with is StealthSeminar which is easy. OAP does everything else I need.

        I hate to bump an old thread, but WOW, how did I not know about this before?

        I've got my hands on the newest version, and I've played around with it quite a bit. It's pretty intuitive but it also seems like you could build as complex of a system as you wanted to.

        I found this thread because I was researching a good CRM for marketers/consultants. Nothing I've found seems to give me exactly what I want, and I feel like I could easily build (or outsource) something that suits me perfectly.

        FM Starting Point (FileMaker Starting Point - A Completely FREE FileMaker Template Designed for use with FileMaker Pro 12) was really helpful in getting me up to speed on some of the basic features. If anyone has anymore templates or training I'd love to hear some suggestions.

        I appreciate the heads up!

          Few do. You know a bit about my back-story, Scott.

          I/we built out the entire IT system in the invention days in FMP. I think it was at version 3 then LOL.

          As a totally weird aside, I went to elementary school with John Sindelar. He was then a remarkably gifted artist/painter. Now he's a data artist.

          You can lean on me for Filemaker stuff if you need, homey. You know where to find me.

    I have a self hosted autoresponder service called Official Contact Pro. Still working on the script as I'm having a problem with the broadcast not stopping when it gets to the end and starts the broadcast over again.

    So at the present I'm using ByPass Publisher, which is another self hosed CRM. At present I have around 120.000 opt-in subscribers on the ByPass Publisher with over 200 segmented lists.

    I am using crm software for my small business. Using CRM can be really helpful in getting new people up to speed as you grow, spreading the load, and make your company less vulnerable to people leaving.

    While there are a large number of cloud based CRMs out there that suit every budget, one needs to be specially careful while choosing the right one, since promises come free and you rarely get what you are shown. Also, the point to consider here is that once you have purchased and implemented the CRM, is the after-sales supportive and readily available. Consider all of these before buying.

    However, to answer your question, in my experience of dealing with several Marketing Automation tools, Agile CRM is an all-in-one solution that combines sales enablement, marketing automation, web engagement and social outreach and is ideally positioned for growing businesses such as yours, with particular benefit forsmall and medium businesses. Agile CRM is a perfect blend of both the Sales as well as the Marketing Automation processes. It has all the integrations required for SMBs and it is extremely pocket friendly.

    Place one more vote for the FileMaker platform.
    The thing with a CRM is that it has to be fully customized for your need or the need of your client and this platform can deliver just that: a 100% easy to build and customisable CRM.

      I've worked as a CRM consultant for most of my professional career. I've previously worked with Microsoft gold partners dishing out Dynamics CRM and Sharepoint implementations, but I've also worked with systems such as Lotus Notes, Salesforce, Sugar, and several smaller systems such as Base, etc.

      As a developer, I wrote myself an application which is the one-stop-shop for all of my information. Contacts, contracted work, projects, marketing efforts, etc are on one application. Website monitoring, SEO statistics, website related expenses, etc are in another. I built a dashboard which joins all of my statistics together which literally let me check on everything from my phone.

      CRM systems have a huge amount of potential for automating workflows, finding opportunities, and scientifically understanding your business, customers, and marketing efforts, and allow you to manage your time in a way that nothing else can really do for you.

      If you create your own system, try to do so in a way that is conducive for reporting over data entry. The more verbose you are in the information you track, the better off you are. At the same time however, keep in mind long forms to fill out and can hamper your own adoption of your own system.

      Also keep in mind that there are people and developers out there that can build a system which automates a lot of the daily grind, freeing up a lot of time to make money, and also summarize key points about your business.

      My suggestion is to choose something which is established as good software, which does MORE than just track your contacts and your calendar. Large scale CRM systems have come down in price, and are just becoming accessible for small companies. The CRM industry is growing at break-neck speeds in the corporate world right now, and there is good reason for it. If you played your cards right, you could discover a secret large companies have guarded for decades: software runs business, enables decisions, and can make or break a company.

      Alternatively, if you don't want to jump in at that level, even just Outlook and Office 365 is a great, cheap way to track your information.

      I have tried a number of free & trial versions of different CRMs for my business, also tried heavy CRM's like Salesforce but I setlled down with Agile CRM about a year ago, after a friend recommended it to me. It has everything I possibly need to automate the sales & marketing and I have enjoyed the integrations, thoroughly. In fact, they look to be constantly upgrading their features and that is great by me. There are other similar one but this fulfilled my need.

    I use Salesforce to manage our customers. However, Salesforce is a very complex system to learn. I think we just used 20-30% features of salesforce so sometimes I think to move to another simple-to-use system like ZohoCRM.

    Plus, we use Magento for running our site.so I would suggest another tool for connecting data between 2 systems: magento salesforce integration

  • I have used Salesforce and my experience was quite satisfactory with it. The reasons I will choose it another time are:

    * Fully customizable
    * Excellent connectivity with the database
    * Cloud solution
    * Required fields can be added anytime
    * Scalable
