Can I widen this theme?

I have a wordpress theme loaded on this directory site: | mylink2.com that I would like to widen, if it is at all possible.

Can someone look at it and tell me if I can and how I go about it if I can widen it, please?

Cheers
Viv

I wonder if you have fixed this on your own already - because I just looked at your site and I see NO gradients at all, let alone gray ones. All I see if green background with a two column layout within a table measuring 995pixels and an inner table measuring 845pixels. All you need to do to widen the layout is adjust the table width from 845 to however wide you want it up to 995pixels.

      Hi there

Thank you for answering my question

I am needing a little more precise detail than you have supplied as I am not a very experienced webmaster and this sort of thing is really foreign to me but I am prepared to give something a go if I know how. Do I edit this in the stylesheet?

      Cheers

    Aloha Viv!

    Just saw this today.

I think the answer is in the "bgwrapper" tag in the style.css file. If you'd like to PM me I could give you an e-mail address to send me the file and I can fix it up for you.

    Hi Viv

I've downloaded the Flexibility 2 theme and it looks like you don't change the style sheet after all. This theme lets you adjust its size in the WordPress Admin utility.

In WordPress 2.7 expand the Appearance menu on the sidebar. Click on Flexibility Theme Options. In the Blog Width Control section there is a text box for the total width of the blog, by default it is 920 px.

You can actually control virtually every aspect of this theme from this page, it really lives up to its name!

    Aloha!

      How are things going?

It's quite funny, I decided to give up on that other theme and use flexibility2 because as you have found out it is so adaptable. I was keen to have the other theme because it had ad blocks in the right-hand column but I was not keen on trying to work out all of the separate boxes that needed changing so I flicked over to flexibility and got to work I have found a plugin that I may be able to use for the ad blocks but I haven't got that far yet.

I am at present struggling with another plugin which you may be able to offer some assistance with. It is called 'math comment spam protection' and it requires me to add code into the comment.php and also to configure the sums that the people need to add together and enter into the captcha box but I don't understand how to do it.

Are you familiar with this plugin? Here is the URL for the homepage:Math Comment Spam Protection Plugin — Software Guide

I'm just not sure whether it is compatible with Ryans theme and maybe that is why I can't get it to show up under the comment box.

I hope this is in your realm of capabilities :p

      Cheers
