Help with Redirection plug-in
Hi, I've never posted in this section of the forum before, (not knowing anything about programming) but will take a chance on getting some guidance I can understand.
At the advice of technical support at Hostgator, I've installed the Redirection plug-in on one of my sites that I had really messed up by changing the structure too much. So, I was getting a huge amount of 404s.
I've had no problem using Redirection for basic 301 redirecting (even I could figure that out, lol), but the tech person implied that this plug-in would also find the bad links before Google does so I can set up the 301 before getting a 404 (at least, I think that's what he meant), and also check for duplicates.
My problem is I don't understand how to do these other functions. I've tried to understand the settings, but don't get anywhere. I posted a query on the Redirection support forum five days ago, but have received no response.
Can anyone here give me any help?
