Most think that it was God who created man in his own image but it was us who created God in ours.

Personally I prefer Dreamweaver. I worked with it for 5 years or so now so it's hard for me to switch away heh. I find that Dreamweaver is a great editor not just for HTML but for CSS, PHP and ajax scripting as well. Partly because of its massive code database it stays up to date.

I don't know anything about that microsoft program.

I have used Xsite pro 2 if you don't know any code at all, it's a WYSIWYG editor with many extras. There is a learning curve but you can add a WP blog to your site with one click, it uploads everything for you. Great for a newbie, beginner to get started, but if you know HTML, CSS etc then DreamWeaver

correction: Thanks Michael71, meant text editor

      Why Dreamweaver?

I know HTML/CSS/jQuery pretty well but NEVER used Dreamweaver... I hate the useless code that DW and other "tools" add to clean HTML code.

All you need, if you know HTML/CSS really well, is a simple text editor with maybe some plugins like Zen Coding...

Free software for free developers :-P

Not sure what you mean here. Of course Visual Studio does web functionality....

To the OP, I have actually used both, Dreamweaver is better, Expression web is free and good enough to get you started.

Adobe Dream Weaver is product from Adobe so this is related to creative and art related there is not related to developing application or web.

Microsoft Expression Web is a product from Microsoft and they are very successful and providing lots of platform to develop application and web.

so the Microsoft Expression Web, if you have experience of user interface.
