Help! Footer in sidebar!

PROGRAMMING

I tried to add an RSS button in my sidebar in the theme editor in wordpress and somehow my footer is now in my sidebar. I removed the code for the RSS button (as that didn't work anyway) and figured everything would go back to normal - so much for that!

Any help please!

Hi Stefanie

Is it possible that you deleted a <div> tag when you edited the sidebar?

If you're using the built-in editor that WordPress has it can be difficult to see the opening and closing tags and how they relate to one another. You could try downloading the sidebar.php file and using a good text editor that "understands" PHP and HTML, it makes editing a lot easier.

One free one I like is PS Pad - Download PSPad - free unicode developer editor, handles near any syntax like HTML, PHP, XHTML, JavaScript, ASP, Perl, C and many other languages with HEX editor, multilanguage interface

If you have a copy of the original theme you could always just replace the sidebar.php file - of course if you've made other edits to it you'll have to redo them.
