These are formatting errors when trying to handle special characters. Are you perhaps writing your post in Word, and then copy & pasting into WP?

Simply write in MS Word and then copy paste them in Wordpress. That will work.

No, that will NOT work. Word embeds special control characters that the WP database doesn't know how to handle.

You can, as someone already suggested, write your post in a plain text editor like Notepad, then copy/paste into the WP editor.

OR you can use the 'Paste from Word' button in the editor. It has a 'W' symbol on it; you'll find it after you've clicked the 'Kitchen Sink' button on the editor. Copy to your clipboard from Word, click the button, then paste in the popup window.

If all else fails, you can always put your symbols in via the HTML tab.

Here's a list of them: HTML Codes - Table of ascii characters and symbols

Thanks for you reply. But I have around more than 170 posts in my site and i am getting this problem in most of the posts. Should I edit all the posts which are showing question marks???

                This is tricky...
You can easily search and replace characters/text/etc... in the database.
The problem is with the single somewhat normal looking characters such as the "?".

If you did a search and replace just for a single "?" it could cause an issue.

With that said, you can do a search and replace, just make sure the characters you are replacing are unique so there's no chance that character should exist somewhere, otherwise you'll be changing things you don't want to.

Here's a free WP plugin you can try. WordPress › Search and Replace « WordPress Plugins

BACKUP the website/assets/and database before you do anything!

If you want to take the formatting out copy and paste it into notepad and notepad will strip any formatting.
Just correct any errors you have and re post to Wordpress.

Try to change encoding for pages and feeds is UTF-8.

Go to WordPress Admin -> Settings -> Reading -> Encoding for pages and feeds = UTF-8 and try to post again.

If questions maks still shown. You can try to change theme and Test Post again.sometime your theme may have a problem about encoding files.
