Wordpress Permalink structure

Hey guys,

I've just installed WP 3.5

On previous versions I've selected the custom structure for Permalinks and used /%post%/

In the permalink choices for 3.5 is "Post Name" Is there any difference between this and the custom structure /%post%/

I've looked at the Codex, but it is showing a pic where "Post Name" is selected, and /%post%/ is also included in the the custom structure box! ???? Very confusing.

I hope someone can clarify if there is a difference beween the two options.

Many thanks,

Myles

The 'Post name' option wasn't there until recently (I don't know the exact version); it was added because of the popularity of the /%postname%/ structure.

When you click any of the radio buttons, the structure is copied to the 'custom' field, I guess just so you see what you're actually getting.

Wordpress is smart you can enter only %postname% to get the structure well organised
