Hi Guys

Can someone please explain to me - in details - what the Openx service does, and what are all the features it has?

It would be great also if someone can give me a link to a comprehensive video about the Openx services.

Thanks an Advance!

Its an ad serving script however I would recommend using another open source script. I think the best "Open Source" ad serving script for your server that runs on PHP, MySql would have to be Orbit Open Ad Server which I have personal experience with.

You can check it out here.

This is the first I've heard of Orbit. I was under the impression that there's no alternative to OpenX. I'm going to check out Orbit, but at first glance, the admin interface looks cluttered compared to OpenX.

Need to say it's quite awful platform, and besides now it's not free anymore...

That's wrong. OpenX is still free (It can be downloaded for free here). If you think it's an awful platform, I'd love to see any suggestions you have for a better free self-hosted ad serving platform.

I'd assume OP was talking about OpenX OnRamp. They terminated the service on Saturday,
    so that's actually true statement.

      Okay, I see. I've always self-hosted OpenX.

I'd still like to know about other free self-hosted OpenX alternatives, if anybody knows of any. KingMighty mentioned Orbit. Are there any others?

It's kind of silly to assume they have a self hosted solution even though their site makes no mention of it. It's like assuming Facebook offers a self-hosted version of Facebook.

Yes, the admin is a bit cluttered but the advertisers side of it is spectacular : ) Perhaps I will make a video tutorial on it sometime

According to adserverplugins, OpenX Ad Server is an ad server, created and published by the British-American company OpenX.org. It is a system that can be used to manage and optimize the advertising space on one or more websites. It is a tool for web site owners (called 'publishers' in the online advertising industry), but also for organizations running their own ad network.

I've been using OpenX for some time, and it seems it has been hacked and is about to be terminating the services. Is it true? And what could be a good alternative?
