Can anyone suggest a Wordpress RSS Importer?
Before you answer, please read my requirements, because I'm having some difficulty finding one that works the way I need it to.
One of my clients runs a news site (legit one with real journalist authors, not a scraper site) that's hosted entirely in Wordpress and needs to be able to add some syndicated RSS content. I know there are a ton of feed-to-post plugins out there, the problem is there are a couple of different feed providers and they use different fields within their feed for the content. For example, one uses "<image>http://.....</image>" for the URL to the picture. Another uses <pic>http://...</pic>. Another uses <picture thumbnail="http://..." full="http://..." />
And the field names for the article content can vary too, sometimes it's <description>, sometimes it's <fulltext>, etc.
So my problem is, I need to find a plugin - free or paid - that can pull from multiple feed sources, but let me customize for each feed source which fields within the feed match up to the Wordpress elements (Post title, post content, featured image, etc). And, if possible, if there is a <category> defined within the feed, to match it up with a corresponding blog post category.
Does anyone know of an RSS import plugin that works exactly this way, or do I need to have something custom written?
