Help - Large Videos Prevent Page unload

Ok, Im hoping someone can help me, im stumped.

I have a php file that I use to download/stream flv and mp4 videos into flow player.

Everything works ... ok.

Here is the issue.

When I load a webpage that uses flowplayer to display my video from the php script, the video starts up just fine, and starts playing immediately.

However, i cannot leave the page. If i click a link, or try to reload the page, it will not work until the entire video finishes downloading.

What the heck is causing this, and how can i get past it.

    Sounds a little like the metadata is at the end of the video, such as is common with .mov files (which are often mistakenly renamed to .mp4 but without taking care of the moov atom which may be at the end of the file).

    A link would help to see if this is the reason, and if it is why you cant do anything else until it finishes downloading,
