Can one Domain name work on two different hosting account?

The strangest thing happened today, I have three domain names that was hosted with one company. I change hosting to two other company for almost a year now, I went back to the first company and was shocked to see that I can still access the domains that transferred. Is that really possible?
Just need to know if anyone had that issue before.

Maybe. Basically they both have the same files on their server and serve up the same domain. Who loads it is another question. Just delete your account at one

The files may still be there, but when you access the site from the web your browser will display whatever is on the server the DNS entries at the registrar point to.

If the configuration is set correctly at a server not pointed to by the registrar, you can force your browser to display that set of files by editing your hosts file if you are running windows. Helpful if moving to a new server you can test it out before you update the registrar.

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

Just because your files are there doesn't mean that your domain is hosted there. You can have the files for your website on thousands of servers and only the server your domain name points to will get any traffic. You can delete the others and cancel your hosting accounts. Otherwise, you are wasting your money.
