How to set a cookie on a specific wordpress page?

I'm not a coder, I don't know any coding terminology. When it comes to placing a cookie, I have no idea what all this stuff about 'functions' and 'variables' are.
Here's what I'd like your help with.
I want to set a cookie for anyone who subscribes to my autoresponder, so I can serve my autoresponder subscribers different content on my website.
I'd like to be able to show them different popups, different sidebars, and to offer page redirects based on whether or not they are subscribers.
