Hello Warriors,

I am wanting to learn Java and I'm looking for good sources to learn from. Are there any suggestions on books or websites that can get me started? I have knowledge of HTML and CSS, along with a little PHP, but have NO knowledge of Java so I'm looking for a good book or site for starters.

Are you sure you want to learn Java?

    Or is it JavaScript
    Or is it JQuery

...there are similarities and differences between them. But don't waste time learning more than you need. I use Lynda.com to learn new languages, its 25 bux a month and is definitely worth that.

If you are beginner in Java, you can start with Kathy Sierra books or Head First Series of Java. These two books are best for beginners and after reading fundamentals of Java, you can go with advance level Java books.

The easiest way in my opinion is to just start with something simple ( like hello world ) and slowly start building on concepts over time. Try to build something, take action and you'll be surprised at what you can get done.

Just start with simple tutorials you find on google, that's really all you need to get started.

That and the ability to take action!

Java is a programming language that developers use to create applications. There are so many ways learn java, but you will never learn it by e-learning until you not practice. So in my opinion you must learn it from any reputable iinstitute under the supervision of professional teacher. By searching on web you must be double minded.
