WP Plugin Update Question

Hi Guys

I have a question regarding what needs to change when the version of Wordpress changes.

If you have a plugin and you test it successfully under the new version of WP i.e. there is NO coding change to the plugin, what needs to change so that WP will not display the message: "Warning: This plugin has not been tested with your version of Wordpress"

I have different versions of the plugin in the Tags folder.

I am assuming that all that would need to change would be the readme file in the Trunk with an updated 'Tested up to' number - is that right?

Oh, and a related question: how long after committing the changes to the repository does it typically take for WP to change its message to people who want to download the plugin?

Thanks

Will

Changing the readme on Trunk is all that's needed. Make sure the plugin versions in the readme and main plugin file match. After committing the changes, the message should go away quickly, depending on how quickly the page caches are refreshed. In my experience, the change is immediate.

    Hi Steve

Thanks very much for your reply. I have it sorted out now - it was my 1st plugin update. I had the readme in the Trunk updated but not in the Tags. I mistakenly thought the version in the Tags folder would need to be kept as it was originally.

Anyway - all done - thanks again.
