Want to Get a Job in Google as Software Engineer......

Hi, I just want to know from where I can see google's job postings? Can anyone give me the link where google post their requirements comprehensively and I can apply to the jobs?

My another question is, is there any forum where google employees talk/participate frequently and guide newbies to enter google? If so then can anyone give me the link?

I am graduate in Computer Science and Engineering and I know 5 programming languages (C, C++, Java, Python and Ruby). Also I have good grasp on PHP, ASP.NET, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX and for database MySQL.

Any help regarding my question will be highly appreciated.

      Michael, I am looking for getting quick recommendations from experienced guys. You can read 10 books to learn programming but just a guru might help you better than those 10 books sharing his experience on those 10 books.

      I am a SEO too but when I first started I didnt know about SEO Moz and WF. But after almost 9 months when I found WF and SEO Moz I think my progress was much better than before.

    If you haven't been doing programming since you were 14 years old, I hope you graduated from a top school. Just saying...

    Google looks for people who have not only graduated from a top school, but have been doing actual work in the industry from the time they graduated high school. That said, not EVERY listing I have ever seen requires college experience. I've seen listings for JavaScript engineers, for example, that don't require a degree. I'd say the only exceptions they make is for extremely talented folks who have already made a name for themselves.

    Are you sure Google is your best bet? It might be better to get your feet wet with a startup. Startup experience looks great on a resume, and it is a great way to get actual experience if you don't have any yet.

      You're going to have a hard time landing that kind of job fresh out of school, with no real-world experience.

      I agree with wayfarer.... if I were you, I would try to look for work at either a startup or a smaller IT company first. Even if you have to intern for a while, it will look great on your resume.

      Then while you're doing that, find out what bars the Google engineers frequent, and start hanging out there. If you make friends with the right people, who knows what kind of opportunities might present themselves.

        Thanks, I already have 4 years of experience working as a programmer in 2 IT companies. Im not from USA but from Bangladesh. Is there any forum where Google employees participate frequently so that I can talk to them?

          Sorry 'bout that... when you said "I am a graduate", I just assumed that you were fresh out of school. 4 years of experience definitely looks a lot better than no experience on a resume!

          @ Google employee forums... I have no idea. Perhaps you could....ummm... Google it?

    A company like google seeks highly qualified people - and they attract the most highly qualified. If you have to post in a marketing forum to ask where to apply, you certainly are not of the right calibre. Also, having a degree from a 'university' in Bangladesh is not that impressive when speaking with a North American company.

      Haha, don't doubt Bangladesh. Not saying anyone can work for Google, but Bangladesh is a big emerging economy, with a real educational system. And Google is a big supporter of worker immigration, since there is a huge pool of talented foreign workers.

      That said, immigration is still a big hurtle. SocialDemon, if you're really serious about this, and you're interested in working in the US, not another Google location, you need to look into VISA requirements. Here's something to get started: Employment-Based Immigrant Visas

      Usually this involves a company sponsoring your visa. Hey, if Google doesn't work out, there's lots of other companies, right?

      You might dont know there are thousands of Bangladeshi engineers, technologists are working in Google, Microsoft, Intel, IBM etc. giant companies over the years. Majority of them are graduated from Bangladeshi Universities.

      Guy you dont know how many experts are working in Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Motorola, Intel, CISCO, EA Sports etc. by getting a degree from Universities of Bangladesh. I think Yankees should be more educated before thinking other countries are holes in the world. Cmon man, before making replies try to learn something. Dont spread wrong information and dont talk if you cant help.

    If you're still in that grad program, apply for their summer internship program instead of a job.

    You only have to get through a college recruiter rather than the standard round of technical interviews. Much higher chance of getting in.

    Have a successful internship and you're virtually guaranteed a job offer at the end. Maybe you'll have to soft interview with a team or two, but it'll still be much easier to get the job than coming from the outside as just another resume.

    Same applies to Microsoft, Amazon, pretty much any of the big names on the west coast. They hire hundreds of paid interns a year each.
