Couldn't find a video section - anyone know what this video was made from?

Hoping someone will know, since I can't find any info on it anywhere online.

I am in no way affiliated with the site/video/program.

I just really really want to know what program was used to make this vid... lol

Thanks in advance, sorry if this is the wrong section (if so can a mod move it to the right place plz?)

I don't know about the graphics, but you certainly could use CamStudio to capture the software action.

I've also had good success with NEO Sounds for similar background music loops.

I do like how this whole video was done. Great pacing, voice, music, movement, presentation!

I have a screen capture software already, its the graphics/background music/voice (seems to be some text-to-speech type voice but I'm not sure) that I can't figure out.

I agree tho, this is a really good one.. definitely want to see what was used.

In addition to good panning and cropping of the screen captures, the video editor also added some subtle "tilting" of the screen's entire plane, (i.e., it's not always directly perpendicular to your eye), which definitely added "depth", (in both senses of the word). I'll have to remember that effect, myself, if I can figure out how to do it.

The background is a music loop, (although if you listen carefully, you'll see that the loop wasn't quite spliced back onto itself evenly, at least at one point). I recommended NEO because I had spent a long time looking for the right loop provider for my book's website, and once I found them, I saw they had a number of different selections that were all appropriate for what I had wanted. See my signature below for the final result.

Perhaps there are stock visual effects available for purchase, but even if they had to design those sequences from scratch, it's really only a few seconds of material, repeated and presented in various different combinations, (much as I milked the one animation in that video by running it a second time, backwards). I have a designer guy in Indonesia that can produce that level of quality for an incredibly cheap price.

As for the voice, if that's automated, that's some really slick software! I've yet to hear anything with that level of quality come from a script. OTOH, I can do voiceovers like his myself, (IMHO), so I've never had the need to look for such software. I didn't offer that particular service, seeing as you mention in your sig that you do voiceovers yourself. But I'm always open for more work. :p

i don't know which one exactly used for this video .
but im sure you can do it using Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere for the video and audio effects and you may capture the screen using Camtasia

Looks like some screen recording software for the base video and then most of the panning and motion type effects could be done by importing the video, psd and jpgs into Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere (maybe even some aftereffects). I use Sony Vegas and could do most of it Vegas. The panning and cropping is really easy in Vegas - you can find a lot of tutorials on Youtube to show you how to do almost all of what you see in the robot task video.

So do I, although admittedly an older version. Any idea about how to specifically do that subtle "tilting" effect? It's more than just squeezing the horizontal dimension; the lighting (or something) made it look... more "real" physically. Plus the angle of the tilting changes over time; reminded me of a studio I was in once, where the whole camera moved very slowly on a track.

In my last business, I did literally thousands of hours of video editing with Sony Vegas Pro, and I can say with absolute certainty that there are some effects in that Robotask video that can *not* be done with Vegas (at least not without some 3rd party plugins). Don't get me wrong... I love Vegas, and it's great for basic video editing tasks. But it's titler and animation effects leave a LOT to be desired (even in the most recent version).

I doubt that Adobe Premier was used for that video either.

That video definitely used a screen recorder (such as Camtasia or Captivate). That's the obvious part.

After that, it was probably edited in After Effects (for all the titling, 3D effects, etc). And the voiceover and music track could have been added at any point.

After Effects is a really cool program, but it has a *massive* learning curve. It is literally about 100 times harder to learn than Vegas, but well worth it if you want to have a career in creating animated videos.

If you only want to create 1 video like that, then just outsource the job, and save yourself the headache of learning one of the most complicated pieces of software out there.

Not sure what version you have but you manipulate the envelope of the object to skew it and then keyframes to make it make it move. Then apply an effect over it. Likely they might be using a NewBlueFX plugin for it. Definitely worth getting the latest version of Vegas - much faster and many more tools to pull of these styles.

If I was to do this I would definitely use Vegas and would be using some of the NewBlueFX plugins to polish it off

I'll have to fire up Vegas and give it a go. It is a nice effect. It's a good video from RoboTask.

I have the latest version (Vegas Pro 12). It can simulate most of the effects in that video (the skew and panning automations, for example), but there are a few effects that it definitely can not do. For example, you can't do 3D object animations (like shown at 2:23-2:26). And Vegas' "fly in" effect (similar to 2:21) doesn't look anywhere near as smooth as the same effect in AfterEffects. And there are a few other effects in that video that, while possible, would be a lot more difficult to do in Vegas than in AfterEffects.

I haven't demo'd NewBlueFX in years, so I'll have to look into their latest plugin. Boris has some pretty cool 3D effects plugins too. So that's a few options the OP could look into if he wants to try to do a video like this in Vegas.

I'll have to do some research on exactly what that stuff means (keyframes/skew/etc.. lol)
