Where to start? Coding Video Chat

One thing that has helped my site a lot with being more "sticky" is our video chat workout events. However, the platform we're using now sucks (TinyChat) and I want to replace it for cheap so I'd need to do it myself.

I know I would have to host it but that's about all I know. What programming languages and functions should I start learning?

Thanks

Try Php and Ajax or jquery to start. It's suitable to your requirements.

Ok, so you want to do this for cheap, but do it yourself, but do not know any programming languages.
    See where I'm going......
This is not going to be cheap doing it that way.
First your time is worth money.
Second, if you have to learn to program to build this, you will likely have mucho problems and bugs, this will cost you downtime, fixing, and money.
There are plenty of vid chat scripts you could buy for short money, this is the cheapest solution.
There's even plenty of open source scripts out there for free, and you could modify them if you wanted to.

Try Github, there you will find many scripts but that would be open source so amendments are needed, be prepare for that.
I suggest collect some funds and get it done ...

Let me know if you need help

      Thanks

Thanks for all the responses so far!

I expect to implement this over time and I enjoy learning so this is very helpful to me. I do know a few languages but wanted to get a sense of which ones I should learn in more depth as I have access to programming guides (textbooks, video tutorials) through my school so it isn't all bad. Not that I expect this to be easy, either!

I will probably use one of this company's audio/video products for AboutTh.is in the future, but I don't have any experience with them (yet).
