Wordpress problem

hope this is right forum for this:

Godaddy host my wordpress blog.

typing my root URL in a browser just gives me a blank screen,only if I add /wordpress do I get my home page.Have I got some files in the wrong place?

Can i post a screenshot of my file structure here to show you what it looks like now?

    Hi Andrew,

    You have your blog installed in the wordpress folder instead of your root.

    If it's a new blog you're just setting up, you can delete it and reistall in the root folder.

    If you want to leave the files where they are and have it open when someone types your root url, follow these directions: Giving WordPress Its Own Directory WordPress Codex

    I think you should change your hosting account as godaddy hosts are not suitable for wordpress & many users are facing problems. If you need suggestion of a good host than contact me I am hosted with a reputed reliable secure server where they install wordpress & give a free template all the things they do at free of charges.

      so right now in general setting my wordpress address and blog address are the same: whoisandrewcollinson.com/wordpress. so what do I change these to?

      Do I do all the changes from No 6 to 10 of the instructions from within Go Daddy?

      I gotta say I nervous about doing this.The blog has been going a while so I don't want to delete and start again.

        (Leave the wordpress address alone and change the blog address to:
        http://whoisandrewcollinson.com Then click "Save Changes")

        You don't need to do No 6 since your files are already in the wordpress directory.

        Then just follow directions for 7 thru 10.)

    There's a lot of good hosting suitable for wordpress. MY $3/month with lovinghosting.com gives me no problem..

    Install the wordpress in the root folder of your server not the sub-directory or you can have it at /blog/. If its at root you want you will have to install it there.
