How can I make a donate button?

Hey all,

I have a website and I'm thinking of putting a "donate" button if that's even possible. The idea is that if they want - (my visitors) they can send me some money via Paypal because I'm giving them some free info.

Any ideas on how I can do this?

    What part of the process don't you know how to do? Seems to me you just make a button that says "Donate" on it and set it up to send them to PayPal.

    Just create a button and send them to Paypal - I would suggest you have several payment options.

    Ok, I'm new to this, so how exactly do you make a button? I mean, so that it's clickable...?

      You go to your Paypal account. Then you go to Merchant Tools or Services or something like that, there you just select Donations, then it's easy to create the button. Then just copy that button to your website, wherever you want it to be displayed, it's like a script. That's it.

        I posted a thread in one of the bigger forums, and it said it has to be approved. How long will this take, and how will I know if it gets approved or not?

          I don't think they're talking about the button being approved. Just your PayPal account. You may have to be set up with them as a business to accept money. I don't remember any more, but it's easy. Should only take a day or so.

          well as far as i know there is nothing like getting approved..for paypal buttons..just register for a business/premioer account and it will hardly take you two mins to get one button!!

    There are also a few services for this Pledgie being one of them and Chipin is another. I just set up Pledgie on a blog yesterday, so I don't know yet how effective it will be. I have seen it on a few WP plugins for donations though.
