My Wordpress Clusterf-ck

I am hoping the braintrust here can give me some insight to what
happened to my website. It went screwy and I can not even
get into the dashboard.

Is it dead or can I resurrect it? Any help would be VERY appreciated

    Hi WhiteRhino.

You're having a lot of 404 Page not found when the home is loaded. JavaScripts, Images, and CSS files cannot be found by the browser.

It means, one of two thins:

    1. Content is not there. I was deleted somehow.
    2. Content is there but your site is incorrectly composing the urls to these resources.

Did you have your wordpress blog being served at /blog on your site when everything worked fine? Did you change anything of the configuration?

Is it a shared hosting or your own server?

Please, give me some more details.

    Best,
    Luis

Did you try to migrate your site URL by any chance?

As lluporini pointed out all your stuff is pointing to /blog which suggests WP is install a directory called /blog on your server.

If you did try to migrate then you can undo your changes. Unfortunately you're probably locked out of your backend (I can't manage to get to your login page, I keep getting redirected to a 404) so you'll need to update it directly in the database.

This has happened to me before when I tried to update the site location, you should be able to recover the site. But we'll need a little more info before we can help too much

This is fairly common. WP isn't as great as the "cheer leaders" would have you believe.

Yeah, I tried (pathetically) to make my home page my blog. Once I see
it was a mess I could not get back to the dashboard.

Truly dumb of me. My host is Go daddy. Do I need to access it through
      the server?

Do not worry. I do have a shared hosting account at GoDaddy too so let me inspect the web interface so I can guide you thru a solution.

I'll come back later with more intructions.

        Luis

    Hi WhiteRhino.

I've reviewed my GoDaddy hosting control panel.

I can eventually guide you thru the panel so you can get access to the database to watch and change the settings stored there which may be cauising the problem.

Anyway, it will be easier for both of us if we arrange a remote support session instead of me having to prepare screeshots or screecasts (that will take a lot more time in fact).

But just to be sure, please, check the following and come back to me (eventually, we can arrange a Skype call/chat to progress further):

You said before that you cannot log into your dashboard. I think you are trying to access:

http://www.whiterhinomedia.com/wp-admin and then a redirection happens that sends you to http://www.whiterhinomedia.com/blog/wp-login.php which ends with a "404 Not Found".

Instead of that, try yo log in at White Rhino Media › Log In
Enter your admin username/password and let me know if you get to the dashboard.

Anytime a redirection happens that sends you to http://www.whiterhinomedia.com/blog/something, change manually the address to point to http://www.whiterhinomedia.com/something and you should see the page you expected to see in the first place.

Keep me posted so we can work it out thru it.

    Best,
    Luis

Yeah, when I login it takes me back to that page, not the dashboard.

Hopefully I can get this figured out rather than reinstalling the theme
and losing all of my content... that would suck.

Ok, no problem. You will not lose your content don't worry.

I'll PM you to follow this on Skype.
