For some reason I noticed on my wordpress blog every time I make a change in the WP admin panel and I refresh my home page, no update is made. The ONLY time it updates for example.... If I upload a new logo in the theme options and click save, the site won't load the logo unless I go to settings- WP Super Cache and delete expired cache. I have to do that every time if I want something to show up after I made a change.

Why is this? How do I fix this? Its only with this blog. None of my other WP sites have this problem.

    Hi

What theme are you using? Are you using the same theme on this one as the others?

Also are you using the same plugins?

Sometimes plugins and/or themes do not play well together.

Try switching the theme and see if that helps.

Then switch off all of your plugins and begin reactivating them one by one to see if you kind find the culprit.

    Sincerely,
    Caterina

First of all, do you 'get' what Caching is/does/means? Because what you are explaining is precisely how it is supposed to work : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cache_(computing)

A potential work around is, when you are getting ready for a few hours of WP customization, just disable the caching plugin in the themes, get in... Do what you do... And remember to turn on the plugin after and refresh.

When we work on our sites, we realize that we must jump through many hoops to make sure our visitors see a beautiful site and that it loads FAST! Just a part of the trade.

I guess this is a common problem when you use cache program. Better you optimize your page as from Google tool and remove your plugins so your website will loading fast without plugins and you will not face such problems.

Maybe cache is causing you some problem. Usually you clear cache in magento every time you make an update, not sure about wordpress though. Try looking for widgets or plugins if they are causing some problem?

This usually is a problem caused by javascript conflict. Try using a different theme, if it still exists then probably it is a conflict between your installed plugins.

Had also this problem with my WP websites. Some plugins really don't work well the theme or the other way around. So what i did was either look for another theme or another plugin.

Hope this could work for you too. Best of luck.

Because that's the role of a cache plugin. The purpose of a cache plugin is to reduce the number of database queries and HTTP requests (increase website speed and reduce server response time). To achieve this, the plugin will try to turn dynamic generated content into static content. So, instead of making a new database request each time a user reloads a page, the plugin will return the cached version of the content until the cache will expire or will be manually deleted. Some caching plugins will clear caches automatically after new content is added, but some won't. I don't know if WP Super Cache plugin has an option to allow automatic deletion of the caches after new content is added, but if I'm not wrong, W3 Total Cache Plugin will clear caches each time new content is added.

Enable the setting in wp-supercache that says 'Do not cache content for known users'
When you do that there will be a 'Delete cache' button added to the administrative ribbon at the top of every page if you are logged in. Clicking that will delete the cache for that page only. It's quicker, and it won't mess with the rest of the cache.

  • Deactivate WP Super Cache and see if that solves the problem. With regards to development caching is a pain in the ****
