How to change IP address for email?

I have a dedicated server with numerous accounts and IP addresses used for hosting. I just noticed, though, that despite domains being listed with different IP addresses, all email from any account / domain uses the dedicated server's primary IP address.

How do I set email from a site to use that site's IP address instead of the server's main IP address?

=======================

I believe I have the answer. In whm select Service Configuration, then Exim Configuration, then Domains and IPs. There is an option to send mail using the account's dedicated IP address instead of the main IP address.

    Hi kindsvater.

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question but I've had pretty good luck with similar hosting questions at webhostingtalk.com

Dear kindsvater, send your question to your hosting support. I think that will be the nearest way to get answer.

What control panel is being used? This can be done easily through WHM (if you have cPanel) in the mail server configuration.

  • If you are using Cpanel, Go to Exim Configuration Manager > Reference /etc/mailips for outgoing SMTP connections > ON

Then ssh your server & edit

    nano /etc/mailips

    *:ip-address (new one )

    then simply restart exim

    /etc/init.d/exim restart

That would be my suggestion, too.

Exim Configuration Manager > Domains & IP's > Send mail from account's dedicated IP address

this would be the better solution for this.

Forums rarely check the IP of an email address. They normally only check the IP you use to connect to the forums. If they IP banned you then it won't matter what email you use to register, you'll still be banned.

If you can get another IP address then you can use your IP provided email with no worries although I would never ever register for an online service using a non disposable email address.

ROFL - you obviously don't know the OP author. I'd pretty much guarantee that he isn't having a problem being banned at forums
